Today I went into my classroom for the first time this summer. It was clean, but of course the custodial staff put absolutely everything in the wrong place. Ugh. It's fine, though, because 1) I need the workout and 2) it gives me the opportunity to change things up. I'm famous for re-arranging my classroom throughout the year. I just like to try new arrangements and I get sick of things being the same. Call me adventurous. Well, against my better judgement (because I like to hoard school supplies) I decided to make more space for other, more important things, and get rid of my clunky teacher desk. It was a smaller one to begin with, but I found that I really don't sit at it and it was in the way. So, I bought a $30 computer desk

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your room with no desk once you have it all together? We have a document camera that I can plug into with my computer. I've ended up stationing my table in the middle of the room, just for ease of use! I don't have a desk, just a table, but it might as well be a desk! Oh . . . I got my kiddos who had to miss recesses (for bad behavior) at the end of last year to sharpen all my pencils for this year! I try to prepare as much as I can at the end of the previous year!

I almost got rid of my desk yesterday...then at the last minute, I chickened out before the custodian took it out! haha! I'd love to see pictures once you get it set up!
