You Know It's Summer Vacation When....

I'm linking up with my friend Mary from Kindergarten Lifestyle for a fun linky party: You Know It's Summer Vacation When...."

I spend so much of my time during the school year grading papers, creating new lessons, organizing my classroom, etc, that sometimes I feel like my own family gets ignored.  I love the summer for when I get to fully focus on them and feel like a good mom/wife again!!

My favorite is sending an email to my accountant friends on a super nice day with a picture of the kids running in the sprinkler, or of the cool summer beverage I get to enjoy while laying out in the sun, knowing that they are sitting in offices and cubicles counting down the minutes until they get off work! Ha! Does this make me cruel?  Maybe a bit! :)

Like I said earlier, I spend so much time in my classroom during the school year that I love to take time to actually tackle projects around my house that I've been putting off all year: Cleaning up the yard, painting a room, going through the stuff in our basement and having a garage sale.  It's nice to have time to focus on the house and not have to worry about anything else!

There you have it!  What are you really looking forward to doing in the summer?  Head on over to the linky party and see who else has participated!

    1. Haha, I know it's mean, but when they are on Hawaiian vacations during the school year and I'm dealing with inside recess, yet again, it feels soooooo good! :)
